Bishop Mark visits St. Andrew's

On Wednesday 10th January we were visited by a very important guest. Bishop Mark - the Bishop of Middleton - spent the morning at St. Andrew's.There was a special assembly for Bishop Mark, together with Reverend George, to meet children and to explain the symbolism behind the clothes that he wears. He spoke to the children about the importance of being a good friend and believing in yourself.

Following the assembly, Bishop Mark met with the school Ethos Council before visiting classrooms and answering questions. The children were able to have a closer look at the Bishop's clothing and Year 6 were very interested to hear that he had spent time with Mother Teresa in Calcutta; they have been learning about her life in R.E. lessons.

A big thank you to Bishop Mark for visiting us, we hope that you will come and see us again!
