Sporting Success for St. Andrew's

The last few weeks have been very busy as children from various age groups have been taking part in several different sporting events. They have been fantastic representatives for St. Andrew's, showing great teamwork, trying their best and never giving up.

Year 2 children took part in a Manchester City football tournament. It was a tough competition but they never gave up and after a tense final (which went to extra time), they were crowned champions! Well done Year 2.

Children from Years 5 and 6 visited Levenshulme High School for an Athletics competition. There participated a variety of different running, jumping and throwing events. Once again they showed great teamwork and persistence, winning the majority of the events that they entered. Miss Dolphin, Mr. Perryman and Miss Jepson, who accompanied the children, were delighted with the behaviour and effort from the team.

The Year 5 and 6 football team played matches against 3 other schools at Barlow High School in the South Manchester league. Again they played very well in difficult conditions, winning one of their three games. We look forward to more fixtures in the New Year when the weather improves. Well done to all of our sporting superstars!
