World Book Day

St. Andrew's celebrated World Book Day on Friday 3rd March. Children and staff were able to dress up as a character from a book or come to school in their pyjamas to promote bedtime reading. We held special assemblies in celebration of reading, with teachers reading extracts from their favourite books and children showing off their amazing costumes. Children from different year groups were able to spend time reading together. Key Stage Two children visited Key Stage One classrooms to share and discuss the books they were reading.

After school, the book sale in the playground was very popular, with many of the books selling out very quickly. Well done to all of the children (and parents!) for the fantastic effort with the fancy dress.
