Class 3C

  • Class teacher – Ms N. Chan

  • Tuesday - Gymnastics or Dance
  • Wednesday - Games

Children need to leave their P.E. kit at school; we will send it home to be washed every half term. For outdoor games, children will need pumps or trainers, jogging trousers for the winter and a white t-shirt. For gymnastics and dance, children will need black shorts and a white t-shirt. Long hair must be tied back and no jewellery please.

Spellings are given out on Friday, along with homework and need to be learned for the test the following Friday. Please help your child to learn their spellings at home – remember Look, Say, Cover, Write and Check. If your child is absent when they are given out, please collect a copy from the Class 3C notice board in the classroom. Children are rewarded with a certificate for getting full marks.

Homework is always a consolidation of the work already done during the week. It will be given out on Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday. Children will receive one piece of Maths and one piece of English homework each week.

Reading books

Your child needs to bring their book bag to school every day. Children need to try and do as much reading as possible at home and this needs to be written down in their reading record. When your child has finished their book they must complete the Accelerated Reader quiz. Ideally children should be scoring 85% and above. When a child scores 100% three consecutive times they will be moved up a book level.

The local authority does not provide free fruit to Key Stage 2 children. If you know that your child will be hungry and need a snack at break time, then please provide some fruit, vegetables or bread sticks only.

Water bottles

Your child may bring water in a named, clear plastic bottle with a sports cap. This can be left at school and refilled each morning.

During the year we will make regular local visits. One of these visits will be to Levenshulme Library, where the children will be able to choose books to bring back to school. We will also visit other places in the local area. Permission letters will be sent out before each trip.

Good Work Assembly

Children who have received certificates for out of school activities such as swimming or sporting activities can bring their certificates to show in good work assembly on Friday mornings. During the year there will be an opportunity for parents to come and watch their child in their class assembly. The dates for these will be given nearer the time.
