Tag Rugby September and October 2018 - Citywide Finalists

Well done to our Tag Rugby team who did a fantastic job getting through the group games and qualifying for the citywide finals which took place on 18th October. The games were tough as over 40 teams had started in the contest and it was whittled down to 12. The children played their socks off and they finished an amazing joint 7th. Well done to all of you who took part. You were amazing!

Year 3 Manchester City Tournament 3/10/2018 WINNERS!

What a fantastic day! After coming through the group stages unbeaten and beating the opposition (3-1) in the Quarter-Final, the Semi-Final went to penalties. Two were coolly put away by our children, whilst St. Andrew’s keeper saved a great shot by Wilbraham.

This took us into the final for the second year in a row. Also in the final was Beaver Road and they were tough opponents, but the St. Andrew's children played like lions. After some amazing shots and saves on both sides it ended 0-0, going to penalties. After 3 penalties it was 2 - 2. It was now sudden death. Beaver Road scored (2-3); we needed to score to stay in the final.  The ball was slotted past the Beaver Road keeper to the left (3-3). St. Andrew’s goalkeeper managed to get his finger tips to the next Beaver Road spot kick pushing it past the post. We needed to score to bring home the glory. Boom, right foot bottom corner! St. Andrew's win 4-3!

Well done guys, you all played brilliantly! The children also got to meet French International and World Cup Winner Benjamin Mendy. Thanks to all the parents who came and watched.

Year 2 Manchester City Tournament - October 17th 2018

The children managed to get through the group stages unbeaten and make it into the quarter finals. Unfortunately, they lost 1-0. The children really enjoyed the day and it was a fantastic experience. Well done all of you!

Cross Country Event - 1st November 2018

St. Andrew’s entered a mixed team for this event with children from Year 1 to Year 4. The children braved the cold November air and despite this, there were smiles from everyone. We were one of 13 schools and they competed really well. All the children enjoyed the event and were awarded with medals all round. Well done to everyone who took part!
