Governor Pen Portaits

Joanna Jarrett - Foundation Governor, elected by the PCC of St. Peter's Church.

I became a Foundation Governor about ten years ago, fully supported by St. Peter’s Church where I am still an active member.  This year I have been elected to serve as Chair of Governors which is a new and challenging role but one I am looking forward to fulfilling.

I strongly believe in our school’s Christian Values and ethos and, along with fellow foundation Governors, work to uphold these in all we do. My duty as a Governor is to be a critical friend to the school, questioning Leadership in order to create the very best learning environment for our children.

This will be my final year as a Governor but I look forward to serving the school to the very best of my abilities.

Melissa Heggie

St. Andrew's C. E. School is a vibrant place of learning with a diverse community. It is important to me that I am able to contribute to the school and help it grow. My special areas of expertise are in Music and Education. I was born in Sydney, Australia and have lived in Manchester since 2000.

Reverend George Reeves

I am the Rector of both St Mark's and St Peter's churches in Levenshulme, for which I was licensed in June 2017.  I have been a school Governor here, and previously in Ashton-under-Lyne, for the last 7 years.  I firmly believe in Church of England schools promoting Christian Values, whilst respecting people of all beliefs and backgrounds.  I have the pleasure of coming into school weekly to lead Collective Worship.  I have an interest in inter-faith work and invest a significant time with our friends at Madina Mosque in Levenshulme.

Brian Selby - Foundation Governor

I have been a member of the Governing Body at St. Andrew’s for a number of years now and also regularly attend St. Peter’s Church, Levenshulme. The school has experienced a considerable amount of change and expansion in the last few years and I feel strongly that as a Governor there is a need for me to have a good working knowledge of the school, understanding both its strengths and where there may be room for improvement. I am confident that St. Andrew’s will continue to succeed and improve which makes my role as a Governor a vastly responsible role, which I take very seriously. Both my children previously attended St. Andrew’s C.E. Primary School.

Debbie Anderson - Foundation Governor appointed by St. Peter’s Church, Levenshulme.

As a parent of a child who currently attends St. Andrew’s it is important to me that: every child is included, every child is treated as an equal and that every child is given the opportunity to achieve and reach their potential. As a Foundation Governor it is my role to help to ensure the Christian ethos of the school is preserved and developed.
