Manchester City - Cityzens Giving

Today we had a special assembly delivered by Jack from Manchester City. Jack, who has been working with several different year groups this term, explained the 'Cityzens Giving' initiative to the children. Manchester City will donate £400,000 to 6 different causes around the world and are asking people to vote in order to decide how the funding will be split.

Children in Key Stage 2 watched videos explaining the various projects and then voted for the one that they thought should receive the most funding. All of the children thought very carefully about their choices. The cause that received the most votes was a project to help young people in Bangkok who are involved in gangs and crime to make positive choices, using football to learn important life skills.

All of the schools that Manchester City support will have the chance to cast their votes and members of the public can also vote online. More details of the 6 causes and voting information can be found on the Manchester City website.
